Rubén studied sax performance and was actively involved in the jazz program at California State University Northridge. Rubén has worked in the orchestra pit for Out of the Box Productions on their rendition of "Wild Party" and can be found on recordings of many up and coming LA based bands such as Noble Creatures, Cliff Beach, Big Joe Hurt and the Soul Junkies, and many others. He has also recorded with Kenny Loggins and his Blue Sky Riders on their album Finally Home. Together with Evan Mackey they make up two thirds of the Noble Horns. Outside of music Rubén is very into craft cocktails and good food. He is one of the founding members of the Ojai Spirits Cabinet, a think tank and educational program for those in the service industry looking to get into the craft cocktail scene and have a strong knowledge of various spirits. Rubén grew up in Ojai working with his family in their restaurant Los Caporales.
